“..witty..”
Suzy Menkes IHT
Piers Atkinson Millinery is now moving into its sixth season. Following on from the more mature and commercially successful AW10 collection, SS11 is another large collection of 40 or so pieces. Each and every piece is created by Atkinson and his small team of craftspeople in his East London studio, using skills ranging from leatherwork, embroidery, blocking, gold leafing and hand-beading. His collections are known for their wit, the unexpected materials and the storytelling. This season the story floats somewhere between the stories of Adam & Eve and Sleeping Beauty, and celebrates Gaia, our creative legacies and the untamed natural forces of The Green Man.
Piers Atkinson hats and headpieces appear regularly in Italian Vogue, V Magazine, national and international editions of Vogue, Elle, Vanity Fair and Harpers and the broadsheets. Clients include Anna Dello Russo, Rachel Weiss, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Kate Moss, Anna Trevelyan, Solange Partrage, Sereena Rees, Sarah Mower and Cate Blanchett.
